Migration impacts the war for talent, as developed countries attempt to fill skill shortages and developing countries fight to retain their talent; migration can generate significant economic benefits: migrants make up just 3.4 percent of the world’s population, but they contribute nearly 10 percent of global GDP.

Immigrants are twice as likely to become entrepreneurs compared to native-born citizens, possibly due to cross-cultural experiences that enable them to identify promising business ideas. Diversity of thought from migrant led businesses leads to a net contribution to the economy.
