Prabhu S. Guptara is Distinguished Professor of Global Business, Management and Public Policy, William Carey University, India. As the Honorary Chairman of Career Innovation, he acts as a thought-leader, building links with individuals and organisations around the world.
Widely known as a speaker and broadcaster, Prabhu had for 15 years (to February 2011) the unique job of adding value in cutting edge and non-foreseeable ways to UBS, one of the largest banks in the world), where he was responsible for Think Tanks as well as for the Distinguished Speaker series.
Having reached the venerable age of 62, which is mandatory for retirement at UBS, he now has a portfolio of activities ranging from Board memberships to continuing academic work, to lectures on the corporate circuit and moderating international business conferences (in China, India, the Middle East, South Africa, Europe, Argentina, the USA…).
Prabhu is or has been a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, of the Chartered Institute of Management, of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, of the Royal Commonwealth Society, as well as of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Commerce and Manufacturers (RSA). He has a wealth of experience with a range of organisations, including BP, Nokia, Barclays Bank and the UK Cabinet office.
He has contributed widely to radio and television in the UK and other countries, including The Money Programme and Any Questions. Publications include articles for the Financial Times, The Guardian, The Times, and articles in the Gower Handbook of Management, The Gower Handbook of Quality, and the International Encyclopædia of Business & Management.
