Without great culture, you won’t realise your strategy. That’s why google provides free food – to encourage networking and idea swapping. They don’t see it so much as a perk, as a necessity for innovation – and part of their strategy.
Conversely, we seem to be seeing more toxic cultures where bullying management is tolerated, ruining relationships. It doesn’t help when we use language that dehumanises, like ‘headcount’, and ‘resources’. These kinds of cultures will destroy any strategy, no matter how much you communicate it.
