Inspiring productivity in UK firms through talent and technology. The Career Innovation Company and the Institute for Employment Studies have won a bid for UK Government Innovation ‘Business Basics’ funding. Together, we’re investigating productivity in SME professional services firms through the impact of a career development intervention.
We have developed an online programme that:
- motivates employees to drive their own career and professional development
- enables managers to have career-enhancing conversations and respond to developments including automation.
The programme includes our successful 10 week course – Be Bold in your Career – and webinars for SME managers. SME business leaders are joining a stakeholder forum to explore productivity issues within the sector, with the potential to build a larger trial.
12 UK firms across the legal, finance and IT sectors are taking part (199 employees and 92 managers). The Institute for Employment Studies is evaluating the proof of concept trial.
