CPD Futures, a research-based innovation project, investigated how Continuing Professional Development (CPD) – which is sometimes referred to as Continuing Professional Education (CPE) – can be more fulfilling for professionals and bring greater benefits to organisations and the people they serve.
Based in Oxford and led by Dr Michael Moynagh, it provided advice and conducted research with employers, professional bodies and regulators, and collaborated with the Centre on Skills, Knowledge and Organisational Performance at Oxford University.
CPD Futures builds on the Tomorrow Project’s extensive research into the workplace, supported by the Economic and Social Research Council, on recent consultations carried out by Career Innovation with professional institutes, and on the first two phases of the CPD Research Project. This encompassed over 1000 survey respondents online and more than 30 interviews with professional bodies and institutes (details at www.whatiscpd.com).
