Amazon is automatically warning then firing workers based on their productivity, according to The Verge.
If true, this is a good case study on the ethics of using automation and AI in the workplace. You could argue it is inhuman and unjust. Or you could argue it’s the ultimate in fairness.
Either way, as HR analytics expert Andrew Marritt points out, it does mean that Amazon isn’t valuing any output of an employee’s workplace participation apart from that which can be easily measured.
