Social media go mainstream

According to a recent report, uptake of social media in organisations is growing especially in customer engagement and external idea scanning. However, depressingly few are willing to consider radical change in the way people are rewarded, or leaders chosen.

More positively, interest in ‘gamification’ for learning is strong, and social media are being used to create innovations in mentoring, according to two recent Ci Virtual Roundtables with Accenture, Agilent, IBM, Electronic Arts, GE, GSK, Siemens, Intel and others.
