Is it time to rethink how you measure engagement and growth?
Is it time to rethink how you measure engagement and growth?
Wednesday 24 June 2026 | 15:30–17:00 BST | MS Teams
Provocateur: Catherine Debray, Principal Consultant, The Career Innovation Company
Employee engagement is experiencing a downturn.
Against a backdrop of AI disruption, career uncertainty and wider global change, employees are feeling less energised, confident and in control of their future at work. For HR and Talent leaders, the risk is changing. It is no longer only about people leaving. Increasingly, the challenge is people staying for stability, but becoming less proactive, less motivated and less willing to give discretionary effort.
While traditional engagement surveys support historical benchmarking, they don’t always show what leaders most need to understand today: whether people can develop, navigate change and progress in ways that are meaningful to them and valuable to the organisation.
In this roundtable, we’ll be joined by Catherine Debray, from The Career Innovation Company, for a deep dive into our Career Pulse dataset. Catherine will explore what career perceptions across global organisations are revealing about growth and satisfaction today, and why looking beyond headline engagement scores can help organisations better understand and address functional disengagement.
Together, we’ll discuss:
- Why falling engagement may be linked to change fatigue, career uncertainty and people feeling stuck
- What career perceptions reveal about motivation, confidence and a sense of control
- Where long-standing survey questions can limit insight, especially for younger employees
- How organisational development and networks are shaping career satisfaction today
- Which career meta-skills matter for adaptability, AI adoption and future growth
This session is for HR and Talent leaders to explore how better career insight can help organisations identify the levers that build energy, confidence and adaptability across the workforce.
