You have probably experienced the mood enhancement from walking, even in dreary environments.  It seems to be connected with our erstwhile hunt for food, that had a positive effect on us.  While we have a propensity for idleness, we always feel better when we are active.

Running helps us even more: it improves our executive function, boosts cognitive flexibility and quietens the mind, all great for a better day of work!
