Performance Games Case Study
As part of the Ci “Digital Generation Initiative” this case study explores how improvements in performance can be achieved when friendly competitions and other games are designed into the work-flow.
The case study looks at how two companies – TopCoder and Tongal – are using a combination of crowd sourcing and performance games to build new businesses. It looks at the theory behind these concepts, how they are being applied in those two companies and the types of people and businesses these approaches might attract in the future.
The Ci “Digital Generation Initiative” comprised a review of corporate recruitment websites and use of web 2.0 tools, detailed case studies of best practices, focus groups and a global survey of students and workers. This was launched in early 2008 with young opinion leaders invited by AIESEC, the world’s largest student-run organisation.
The research from this initiative was designed to help technology firms and top employers track, understand and adapt their use of technology to the emerging communication and working styles of the Digital Generation.
